1. library instruction

Library instruction is one of the services which aims to familiarize customers with the library collections, services and the proper procedures involved in using the materials.
​
During the early part of the first semester, freshman classes are given library tours and orientation on the different sections of the library. Library rules and regulations are explained.
​
A faculty member who wants his/her class to be oriented on how to use the different bibliographies, indexes & OPAC (On-Line Public Access Catalog) can request the College Librarian before the date of the actual library instruction.

2. referral to other institutions
When materials are not adequate or available in the library, students who need to consult other information centers may request the
College Librarian for the issuance of referral letter to the University or College Librarian of the choice.

Graduate student’s (e.g., thesis/dissertation writers) who are not enrolled during the summer/current semester but are in need of materials not found in the library are referred to other libraries. They have to present their ID and endorsement from their adviser/ Dean.
3. library tour/orientation
​
One of the basic library services is the orientation program intended for college freshmen. It usually starts at the beginning of the school year in coordination, with the English department. The objective of the program is to welcome the freshmen and to introduce to them the available reference sources, facilities and services that the library offers. Library policies are also explained clearly.
4. reference and information service
​
Provides answer to simple queries and direct users to the proper location of the library materials for a given query.
All the help is given in finding answer to a library user’s query.

A. Reference Queries
The information desk located near the entrance door receives all kinds of queries from the library users. The Librarian-in-Charge at the information desk entertains all queries brought to the desk.
There are two major types of reference queries
1. The ready – reference/directional questions.
The questions may just a request for direction of the location of a certain material which involves a very limited search of the collection or even none at all.
2. The search or research questions.
These questions need a complete search of the resources to be able to present a satisfactory answer.

B. Information Resources
The types of information resources are
1. General Reference Books. Encyclopedia dictionaries, maps, and atlases are for room use only.
2. Theses, dissertations, periodicals, vertical file materials, pictures, and maps cannot be taken out of the library.
5. circulation service
The Circulation Section is the direct contact of the librarian with the library users. It is the center of borrowing and returning library materials.

The purpose of the circulation service is to make available the library materials to the library users. This section is responsible for the arrangement of the books on the shelves according to the Dewey Decimal Classification System. This system is followed in returning the books to the shelves after use, thus facilitating a smooth running system of borrowing and returning books.
6. internet service
Computer unit is available in the library for browsing for research purposes.
7. starbooks
Contains thousands of digitized science and technology resources in various formats (text and video/audio) place in special designed “pods” set in a user-friendly interface.
8. audio-visual usage for faculty and students
9. Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC)
This is a computerized catalog that replaces the traditional card catalog. Browsing terminals are provided for searching the library’s collections.
